Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioral Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care to individuals with behavioral challenges. Your expertise in applied behavior analysis and behavior management will be essential in helping our consumers achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
Duties:
- Conduct assessments to identify behavioral needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Implement behavior management strategies and interventions based on applied behavior analysis principles
- Provide direct patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living and implementing behavior modification techniques
- Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychologists, therapists, and educators, to ensure coordinated care
- Provide support and guidance to families/caregivers on implementing behavioral strategies at home
- Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in the field of behavioral health
Qualifications:
**All candidates must be fully vaccinated and boosted**
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, special education, or related field (master's degree preferred)
-Must have a BCBA certification
-Must have a NJ Driver License (with a clean driving record)
-Must be cov-vaccinated with at least one booster.
- Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Familiarity with data collection methods and analysis
- Understanding of medical terminology related to mental health conditions
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with individuals with behavioral challenges
