Job Title: Manager, Custodial Services Department: General Management (Group) Country: United States of America State/Province: Arkansas City: Lowell Full/Part Time: Full time Job Summary: Under general direction, the position manages custodial employees in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of buildings, furnishings, and equipment, as well as building entrances and exterior walkways. The incumbent is responsible for training employees in proper custodial procedures for the use of manually operated tools, electrically powered machines, cleaning compounds, solvents, and chemicals. The incumbent inspects the work of contracted custodial personnel and reports inadequate services to respective vendors. Job Description: Key Responsibilities: Manage team of custodial services personnel through recruiting, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and training; handle escalated issues/concerns that arise from staff Ensure custodial service needs are fulfilled by scheduling work activities, adjusting workloads to compensate for scheduled and unscheduled absences, changing priorities, and special custodial projects Ensure the quality of custodial services meets established guidelines by inspecting the work of custodial personnel and contracted services; direct corrective measures and notify respective supervisors when necessary Ensure custodial personnel have access to the equipment and supplies necessary to perform custodial services by issuing supplies as needed, completing request form(s) for replacement items, and securely storing the supplies and equipment; research, evaluate, and present to internal stakeholders alternative custodial supplies and equipment Maintain maintenance records and reports; present information and advise on forecasted needs to leadership Advise immediate supervisor on the condition of J.B. Hunt buildings and facilities by conducting regular inspections of those areas and reporting the results of the inspections with particular emphasis on needed repairs Perform custodial duties daily as needed, under emergency conditions, and/or as unique situations dictate May develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and status reports to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification Maintain the company's safety culture by promoting a safe work environment in compliance with federal and state regulations; remain knowledgeable by attending updated training and/or courses Foster and promote an inclusive team environment that enables employees to come to work to do and be their best Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related experience AND/OR Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences Possess a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record as per JBH standards May be located in facilities requiring the position to be designated “sensitive” as defined by J.B. Hunt policy May include job duties, responsibilities, or activities that are subject to export control regulations Position requires responding to custodial emergencies or other unforeseen situations around-the-clock Position may require exposure to and the use of chemical compounds for cleaning which may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, application and use are not properly followed Knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and supplies Preferred qualifications: 3 years of custodial supervisory experience Experience in Project Management or related field Bilingual in English/Spanish Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums Ability to document information Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach product decisions in a timely manner Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds) Ability to manage a team Ability to run queries, utilize SQL, and perform basic analytics Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE) Ability to work both individually and as a team Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work with minimal direction Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
