Here's What You'll Be Doing
Collaborates with senior public relations team members to execute objectives and strategies outlined in the client’s PR Plan. This role is focused on media relations services and supports client relations and administrative duties where needed. Under supervision, the Account Executive will be responsible for managing 1-2 small accounts or projects including pro-bono work.
This role will be working specifically with a team who handles reputation management for high profile clients.
Here are the specifics
Media Relations:
- Identifies and secures an array of media placement for clients
- Develops and maintains relationships with all media outlets including trades, broadcast and national media
- Supports 2-4 accounts as a lead media pitcher
- Assists in the development of portions of strategic PR plans and campaign development
- Monitors, identifies and secures appropriate editorial calendar opportunities for clients
Administrative Support:
- Supports Account Coordinator and Media Analyst with reviewing and/or developing media analysis reports and distributing client media mentions
- Supports Account Coordinator with maintaining call notes, agendas, project trackers and client update communications
- Assists internal team members with other clients, business development and Company projects
Client Service:
- Functions as a general point of contact (for clients and internally)
- Participates in new client onboarding including developing agendas for discovery meetings meetings/calls
Writing:
- Develops unique story angles and timely pitches to generate consistent client exposure
- Drafts press releases, award nominations, social media posts and other client related materials
Company Ambassador:
- Acts as a steward of the JConnelly brand, consistently representing and reflecting the Company’s core values, approach and high standards of excellence in all client, media and public interactions
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you should have
- College degree; or equivalent related business experience
- Minimum three to 1-2 years of professional experience
- Demonstrated ability to organize/prioritize work, handle details accurately, follow up with minimum supervision, and complete tasks within specified deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and customer service skills
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with various software applications including the full Office suite, as well as social media channels
- Knowledge of PR related software (Cision, Meltwater, TrendKite, Sprout, Hootsuite) is preferred but not required
