Overview:

Responsible for delivery of new employee orientation to new employees and assisting the Training Manager with the delivery of required safety training.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare new employee orientations.
  • Deliver orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training for new hires.
  • Gather and process paperwork, such as contracts, tax documents, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Answer questions regarding eligibility, benefits, and other pertinent information
  • Assist IT, and Human Resources with ensuring new hires receive badges, computers, etc.
  • Assist Training Manager with the delivery of Safety training
  • Assist with the development and/or improvement of current training materials and practices.
  • Cross-train in all facets of the Safety Department and grow in responsibility and scope over time.

The person in this role will uphold the culture of J.F. Electric, including relationship building with customers as well as general behavior on J.F. Electric or client premises or at J.F. Electric sponsored events.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 3 years of Safety training experience preferred.
  • OSHA outreach instructor credentials preferred.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products
  • Union experience is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Effectively communicate.
  • Proficient organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must be able to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting at desks or in meetings for prolonged periods, up to four hours or more each day.
  • Extensive reading of written words, typed reports, and computer screens.
  • Communicating verbally with other staff and new hires.
  • Occasional stooping, reaching or bending.
  • Moving between meetings and standing for prolonged periods.

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
