We are looking for a Press Brake Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards before they are shipped to customers. This includes inspecting incoming materials and verifying that all processes are being followed correctly. The ideal candidate will operate a press brake to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates. They will prepare, set up, and adjust press brake as required by product plans and production schedules. They will also ensure that there are sufficient raw materials available for bending to the appropriate shape. They will measure and align materials to be used.
Responsibilities:
· Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal plates or sheets according to blueprints and specifications.
· Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operations.
· Select and install appropriate tooling, such as dies, punches, and gauges.
· Adjust machine settings to control speed, pressure, and stroke length.
· Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and accuracy of bends.
· Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure they meet required specifications.
· Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure proper functioning.
Requirements:
· Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator or similar role.
· Proficient in using calipers and other measuring tools to verify dimensions.
· Knowledge of basic mathematics.
· Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles is a plus.
· Familiarity with different types of tooling used in press brake operations.
· Mechanical knowledge and understanding of machine operations.
· Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings.
· Experience operating other machinery such as lathes, milling machines, or laser cutting machines is a plus.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
· Ability to lift heavy materials and operate a forklift safely.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
