Role: This position is responsible for: processing customer and interdepartmental personnel transactions; cashes all types of checks for patrons within specified guidelines; provides new patrons with check cashing/credit applications; records all checks, marker issues and marker payments in the computer system, redeems chips for patrons, conducts currency exchanges, secures and documents all recordable transactions made with company assets, balances bank at end of shift, basic knowledge of Title 31 regulations; and to perform job responsibilities satisfactorily and to according to department standards. Associate adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.

- Requires the use of computer, jet sort, currency scanner, calculator, telephone and other basic office equipment.
- Minimum one (1) year large money handling experience.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:
- Requires current Nevada Gaming registration.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES: Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Giving Guests the highest possible standard of service.
- Conducting themselves professionally with all departments and providing the services needed to perform their jobs.
- Work as a team member professionally and courteous.
- Counting and verifying their bank at the beginning and end of the shift and filling our and signing a Cashier’s count sheet.
- Always opening and closing with a second verification (under the surveillance cameras) of the bank.
- Filling our and signing an Over/Short form if their bank does not balance at the end of the shift, which must include a possible reason for every Over /Short in excess of $10. Then obtain a supervisors’’ signature for any variance of $50 or more.
- Keeping their banks in balance for the entire shift by making every exchange carefully and accurately.
- Locking their bank when not attending at the window.
- The correct operation of the jet sorts and currency scanners.
- Processing jackpot payouts correctly, including time stamping and signing documents.
- Counting, Cashing and exchanging The Rampart Casino at the Resort at Summerlin chips.
- Reading the cage memo board and signing for any new instructions or notes.
- Payment of winning race and sports tickets when the sports book is closed.
- Cashing personal checks, payroll checks, debit card transactions, credit card advances with current equipment and procedures.
- Issuing and redeeming markers.
- Redeeming Ticket-In-Ticket-Out Vouchers from Rampart Casino’s slot machines.
- Processing a front money/safekeeping deposit or withdrawal.
- Counting all money straps and recording date with initials and ID number on the strap.
- Rotating all coin and currency, ensuring currency-having straps marked with the oldest dates is used first. Only 3 sets of initials for each strap.
- Issuing / closing safety deposit boxes and notifying the Cage Supervisor at that time.
- Assisting the Guest with the proper completion of a credit application.
- Performing all duties related to a Guests credit application.
- US currency exchanges for guests as well as other JW Marriott/Rampart associates.
- Exchanging foreign currency, chips within the specified limits of Title 31 and/ or Cage policy.
- Redeeming and issuing promotional items.
- Understanding and complying with policies and regulations of the company, FINCen and the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
- May also include responsibilities necessary for the proper operation of the Cashier’s Cage.
- Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.

Work is performed in a Casino environment and in other locations throughout the property. Associate must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. A casino environment typically allows smoking.
