Job Overview:

The Customer’s production and development services provide high-quality interactive, mobile, video, web and audio products that concisely convey complex topics to a variety of executive customers. The Customer manages its own technical cloud-based infrastructure and custom applications and services to support production efforts.

The Customer needs polished skills in communication, teamwork, and collaborative development. The Applications Developers, work will include development and support of cloud-based servers, development and support of custom cloud-based applications and services, and related administrative record-keeping and process reports as defined by the Customer.

• The position will manage project priorities and tasks to ensure accuracy and timeliness, clarity of message, and quality control for products intended for dissemination, publication, and archiving.
• The position will meet Customer’s requirements for quality and accessibility.
• The position will comply with Customer development standards.
• The position will design datasets and data objects suitable for use with JSON to support interactive and mobile production, web applications, and websites.
• The position will provide development, maintenance, and upgrade support for in-house development tools, project boilerplates, and web application packaging tools using Git, webpack, Node, modern Javascript, Typescript, and Visual Studio Code.
• The position will advise and assist the project team in the development of process documentation to support individual tasks, knowledge sharing, and development process workflows.
• The position will update assigned project statuses as needed in Customer’s production tracking tool.
• The position will provide data transfer support to team members as needed.
• The position will provide development support for internal applications, tools, services, and cloud infrastructure.

Required skills and demonstrated experience:

• Demonstrated experience with front-end and back-end application development support for applications and services used to improve producer experience.
• Demonstrated experience with front-end and back-end application development support for applications and services used to facilitate the production of complex visual products.
• Demonstrated experience with version control software including Git and GitHub.
• Demonstrated experience with presentational development including HTML5/CSS3.
• Demonstrated experience with Hugo or other static site generators.
• Demonstrated experience with Sass.
• Demonstrated experience with functional development including Javascript, Angular 8 , Node and any combination of the following: Typescript, Express, webpack, MySQL, Nginx, KoaJS, Lerna, and Electron.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud-based infrastructure development and automation including AWS and Jenkins or other related automation services.

Highly desired, though not required, include:

• Demonstrated experience with ElasticSearch, Kibana, or other cloud-based metrics or auditing features.
• Demonstrated experience supporting system security documentation.
• Demonstrated experience working with AR or VR development and equipment, including associated development languages such as C# or C and software engines including Unreal, Unity, or other related software.

US Citizenship:

• This position requires US Citizenship. Verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements will be confirmed.

Security Clearance:

• The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.
• Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.

Travel:

• This position is expected to be onsite. The position will be located within the Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA). 

• Local travel by privately owned vehicle will be on an as needed basis, within the local place of performance.
