Job Summary:
IPH is seeking a versatile Director of Finance who will report to the CEO. This finance leader will provide a broad range of finance and accounting support and analyses in a fast-paced company. This is a unique position responsible for developing and executing our financial strategy while navigating the complexities of being a venture company inside of a larger global holding company. This critical role requires a unique blend of a strategic mindset and a comfort level in executing tactical accounting and financial activities.
The right individual will thrive on owning every part of the finance function, as this broad role encompasses all financial aspects of the company including strategy, accounting, business partnering, financial planning and treasury and cash management. The ideal candidate will be highly adaptable, pragmatic, and an exceptional problem solver who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. They will work closely with senior stakeholders both within the business and externally, ensuring sound financial management and strategic planning to support the company's growth. Job Location: Remote – East Coast
Main Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy:
Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and long-term objectives.
Understanding of the company’s sources of revenue, its products, processes and what makes the operating model successful.
Accounting:
Engage in all day-to-day accounting operations, including Billing and payments, invoicing and Accounts Receivables, the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
Review of monthly operating results, reporting, ad-hoc regulatory filings and returns
Manage cash flow to ensure that there is sufficient funding to meet all company requirements
Financial Planning & Analysis
Conduct financial analysis, prepare reports, and provide recommendations to senior management.
Design and implement budgetary and planning processes that meet the needs of a rapidly growing and evolving company.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and related reporting package for submission to the Board and stakeholders
Regularly monitor financial results and partner with the CEO to adjust strategies to ensure the division meets or exceeds its financial targets.
Conduct financial modeling and scenario planning to assess the impact of various business decisions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Collaborate with other Finance executives to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
Liaise and negotiate with third party contractors and vendors to ensure that the company receives the best services
Compliance and Risk Management:
Identify, assess and mitigate financial risks to ensure the company's financial stability.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
Responsible for the preparation and implementation of all financial controls.
Financial Operations:
Set up and manage all finance operations for the business, including the implementation of AP and ERP system.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
10 years experience in a senior finance role, preferably within a startup or tech environment.
Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders effectively.
Highly adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Adequate working experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (insurance environment would be an asset)
Adequate knowledge of various tax environments
Adequate experience in managing a treasury function in a multi-currency environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team building, strategic thinking, and effective decision-making.
Strong financial modeling and analysis skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences, including executive leadership and stakeholders at all levels.
Experience working in diverse, multicultural environments, with a deep understanding of global financial practices
