JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Housekeeping Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Housekeeping
Department: Housekeeping
Classification: FT/Year Round
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
GENERAL PURPOSE
Assists JHRL Housekeeping department with all housekeeping operations in accordance with company and departmental standards to ensure a high level of service for all JHRL guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assures proper conditions of guest rooms according to company and departmental standards.
- Inspects guest rooms according to established company standards.
- Ensures housekeepers are completing all daily tasks
- Opens or closes the housekeeping department.
- Assists Director with payroll duties as needed.
- Assists with scheduling housekeepers according to business levels and volumes.
- Stocks guest rooms with supplies as needed.
- Manage department supplies to ensure all required materials are fully stocked for efficient and effective work.
- Checks guest room inventory to ensure all requisite items are supplied.
- Secures units including doors and windows, turns lights off, and turns heat to 55-60 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Put away and check in all supplies and linens while ensuring order and organization of linen room.
- Responsible for management of key distribution to housekeepers and return.
- Responsible for annual deep cleaning of units.
- Manage annual inventory of supplies.
- Assist with checking in dry cleaning and setting furniture after carpet cleans.
- Works with Accounting to bill items to owners.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Works as a housekeeper as needed.
- Works a Supply Technician as needed.
- Answers phones and supports other JHRL departments as needed.
- Completes other duties requested by the Director.

COMPETENCIES
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:
- Self motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to recognize projects that need attention without direction
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
WORK ENVIROMENT
- This job operates primarily indoors in a clerical office setting, housekeeping shop environment, and within JHRL properties. Occasional outdoor environment required to travel to and from JHRL properties. This role routinely drives a motor vehicle. Outdoor environment may cause exposure to extreme temperatures and varying weather.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to sit for long periods of time at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent walking, moving about on foot to complete tasks in the housekeeping shop and complete cleaning duties.
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.
- Extensive use of fingers to type and perform other computer work.
- Hearing and ability to give and receive detailed information through oral communication at normal speaking level both in person and over the phone.
- Close visual acuity to prepare payroll and scheduling duties.
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to kneel, crouch, grasp, and reach to complete cleaning duties.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This job is year round full time and typically works during day time business hours; however, work may be required on evenings and weekends. Schedules and hours may fluctuate depending on business need.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2 years housekeeping experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience with housekeeping administration
