Jackson Lewis P.C. is seeking an Awards & Recognition Administrator to work closely with communications team members and attorneys throughout the firm to increase the firm’s visibility in legal directories, rankings and publications deemed of value to the firm. This is an exciting position for an extremely organized, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented individual. The Administrator will take ownership of the firm’s rankings and awards processes, leveraging outstanding writing and editing skills to draft compelling nominations, while staying on task and meeting deadlines.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensure the standardization of legal award submissions that communicate Jackson Lewis’ capabilities with the objective of increasing the rankings, visibility, and recognition earned for the firm and its lawyers
- Work closely with the Communications team, the Marketing and Business Development team and attorneys throughout the firm to create best practices and specific guidance regarding award submission processes, including calendaring, organizing, and leveraging client references for multiple uses.
- Identify and optimize processes to efficiently organize and repurpose quality submissions.
- Make recommendations and work cross-departmentally to leverage internal successes across the full range of communications platforms, including proposals, biographies, and media.
- Ensure lawyer biographies are updated with recent significant awards information
- Research and identify new award submission opportunities for the firm to consider
- Play an integral role in the drafting, posting and distribution of client-facing content, including newsletters, alerts, and quarterly and monthly publications
- Monitor and report on firm success rates and identify areas for improvement
- Maintain a calendar of award and survey-related deliverables
Qualifications/Skills Required
- 4-6 years of experience in writing, editing or research at a legal or professional services firm
- Experience with legal award & recognition programs preferred
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Demonstrated experience in boiling down complex matters into persuasive written descriptions
- Strong deadline orientation: an ability to handle time-sensitive requests from multiple lawyers, across time zones, and to generate quality work product in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines
- Excellent judgment and common sense
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, public relations, marketing, or communications
