General Summary of Job Duties
Overseeing all aspects of the Bar Department and the Front of the House Grille. Maintaining all records for both departments, including bar inventory and bar ordering. Manages hiring and training of all Food and Beverage employees, including reviews. Makes sure that areas are up to health code. Maintains restaurant and bar labor costs. Has a professional and positive demeanor and maintains an open line of communication with others.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties
Maintain a high quality of guest service according to Jacobs Entertainment, Inc. Mission Statement and F.A.S.T. Track Values Statement.
Administer all aspects of the food delivery and beverage department at food and beverage outlets.
Maintain training programs for employees.
Maintain records required for the efficient operation of the department. Ensure quality assurance for food, portion control and receipts, guarding against waste and pilfering.
Make periodic inspections of all areas and ensure that they are up to health code.
Manage restaurant and bar labor and costs.
Establish and administer safety policies and procedures and assure adherence to these policies and procedures.
Counsel, guide and instruct personnel in the proper performance of their duties. Prepare and coordinate the periodical performance review of assigned personnel.
Manage the hiring, promotion, approval of vacations and leave of absence.
Establish and maintain effective channels of communication upward, downward and laterally.
Organize and participate in company and community events.
Ordering products and maintaining bar inventory.
Establish and adjust department policies and procedures in accordance with JEI and Gold Dust West standards.
Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future.
Adhere to all appearance and uniform standards.
Maintain an open line of communication with Management.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guest, fellow Employees, and Vendors.
Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
Regular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings.

Skills, Education and Other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or 3 to 5 years Equivalent Work Experience.
Must have high-volume restaurant and/or bar experience.
Must be 21 years of age
Must be able to clearly communicate with Guests in conversational English
Must have prior cash handling experience
