The Accounting Associate is responsible for properly recording financial events, keeping the accounting methods of the company organized, and assisting with the generation of reports and data necessary to make analytical decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General Accounting
- Record day-to-day financial transactions
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system (physical and electronic)
- Collect and catalog W-9 forms
- Reconcile and maintain petty cash
- Assist members of the Accounting Department with general bookkeeping, clerical duties, and account management
Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable
- Prepare invoices for approval, and distribute approved invoices to tenants and clients in a timely and appropriate manner
- Monitor and take action to ensure receivables are collected in a timely manner
- Process and pay bills from vendors and contractors in a timely and appropriate manner
- Monitor accounts to ensure sufficient funds are available
- Meet with appropriate parties to ensure the accuracy and validity of the scope of work outlined in each respective bill
Financial Reporting
- Assist in assembling information for insurance and accounting professionals as needed to complete the proper and timely reporting requirements
- Assist in assembling information for external contractors and consultants as it relates to the Neighborhood Improvement Zone (NIZ) and other federal and state grants
Miscellaneous

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in accounts payable and receivable
- Associate Degree required in business-related field, Bachelor Degree preferred
- Experience in construction, property management, or event management a plus
Competencies
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Proficient with QuickBooks (Desktop – Version 2018 or later)
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Political and cross-cultural awareness
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
