Please note : Shift will be M-F day shift and does include half a day Saturday in the Saturday rotation schedule.
As a Parts Counter Specialist , your typical responsibilities include :
- Greet walk-in customers, respond to customer telephone calls and inquiries, sells products and / or services to meet customer needs.
- Process internal (inter-company) parts transfer requests.
- Supplies Service Technicians with parts as required.
- Assists with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays.
- Verifies receipting-in of shipments and assist with placing Machine Down and Stock Orders in their proper inventory locations.
- Keep work area and assigned warehouse areas neat, clean, and organized.
- Maintains condition of department vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment.
- Participate in (annual) physical inventory
Requirements include :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years John Deere Parts experience or 3-5 years other parts experience, preferably automotive or other comparable equipment
- Safely operate a forklift, must be able to obtain forklift certification
- Strong verbal communication skills and a focus on customer service
- Basic computer skills, experience in parts look up or systems highly preferred
- Basic math skills
Physical Requirements :
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- Participates in all job-related training and development.
- Able to move objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
Working Conditions :
- Hazards from electrical, mechanical and power equipment
- Risk of exposure to chemicals such as oils, antifreeze, volatile hydrocarbons, and battery acid
- Extremes of weather
- Mists, fumes and non-continuous noises of varying sound level and intensities
- Dust from hose saws
