Role Overview: The Paralegal will play an instrumental role in managing and organizing litigation and transactional matters, ensuring the efficient progression of cases from inception to resolution. Your duties will include a range of responsibilities from conducting legal research to managing client interactions and overseeing case deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research to support case preparation.
- Prepare legal documents, including briefs, appeals, and exhibits.
- File documents with courts and opposing counsel as needed.
- Manage and organize legal information using electronic filing systems.
- Collect and maintain evidence and documentation for legal proceedings.
- Draft and oversee client and legal correspondence.
- Communicate with clients, providing updates, and responding to inquiries.
- Coordinate service of subpoenas and court summons.
- Assist with case scheduling and managing case deadlines.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to gather case information.
- Organize trial transcripts and handle exhibits during legal proceedings.
- Manage legal volumes and keep them updated.
- Prepare case summaries and support documents for case preparation.
- Oversee treatment schedules, coordinate with experts, and liaise with client’s medical providers.
- Handle records requests and reviews, track and negotiate liens.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a Paralegal.
- In-depth knowledge of legal principles and practices.
- Experience with personal injury, toxic tort (ex. asbestos), and employment law cases preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of current professional and technical practices.
- Strong problem-solving ability and multitasking skills.
