Job Description: Expo
Jasmine is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Food Expeditor. As a Food Expeditor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of food orders from the kitchen to the dining area. Your primary responsibility will be to act as a liaison between the kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure that food is prepared and delivered in a timely manner.
Essential Job Functions:
Order Coordination:
· Receive and review food orders from servers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
· Communicate orders to the kitchen staff, including special requests or dietary restrictions.
· Prioritize and organize orders based on timing and table assignments.
Quality Assurance:
· Inspect each dish before it leaves the kitchen, verifying that it meets presentation and quality standards.
· Collaborate with chefs and line cooks to address any concerns or issues regarding food preparation.
· Ensure that all necessary condiments, garnishes, and sides accompany each dish.
Timely Delivery:
· Coordinate the timing of food preparation with kitchen staff to ensure that all items for a table are ready simultaneously.
· Communicate with servers and management regarding any delays or changes in the status of food orders.
· Expedite the delivery of completed dishes to the appropriate tables, maintaining proper sequencing.
Communication and Coordination:
· Maintain effective communication channels with kitchen staff, servers, and management to facilitate a smooth operation.
· Relay customer feedback or special requests to the appropriate personnel.
· Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
· Ensure that the expo station is organized, clean, and properly always stocked.
· Monitor and restock necessary supplies, such as to-go sauces, utensils, napkins, and other condiments.
· Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a food expeditor or in a similar role within a restaurant environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with various team members.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain high-quality standards under pressure.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
