Summary/Objective
The Robot Programmer/Technician will be responsible for all aspects of the set up and programming of robots, testing and modifying programs and providing automation support when needed. The robot tech will be working to accomplish the daily work plan which involves programming, maintenance and repairs in a variety of robotic areas, Assembly lines, painting lines, injection molding machines and other tasks. This includes performing routine maintenance and inspections, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and software issues. This position requires a person to be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and will be responsible for establishing the safety, efficiency and performance of automated systems. Identify, troubleshoot and resolve system errors.

Essential Duties include but not limited to:
- Develop and maintain robotic systems and software, including programming, debugging and testing
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and implement new robotic systems and features
- Working knowledge of Fanuc and Yaskawa robot programming and maintenance
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and software issues with industrial robots and automated equipment.
- Perform programming and software updates as needed to maintain proper operation of equipment
- Work with other members of the maintenance team to ensure that all equipment is in proper working order
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing systems, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Develop and maintain documentation for all robotic systems and procedures
- Provide training and support for other team members on the use of robotic systems
- Review robotic systems and software frequently and making any adjustments necessary to keep them running well.
- Responsible to maintain continuing educating on the latest advancements in the robotic applications field
- Complete corrective or preventative maintenance
- Familiar with hydraulics and pneumatics
- The ability to drive robots and set points in the robot to better the assembly condition.
- Familiar with PLC programming, touch screen and motion control module.
- Electrical/PLC troubleshooting and repair
- Avoid any downtime on the Production line due to maintenance related issues.
- Recover FANUC and Yaskawa robots from faults
- Ensure all scheduled maintenance is performed without exception so that equipment is able to run according to design specification.
- Provide emergency/ unscheduled repairs of robots during production and preform scheduled maintenance, repairs during service
- Compliance with all Robot Safety Procedures (including but not limited to, Haz Mat, Lock out tag out and RSIS robot safety)
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Combination of education and related experience, associate technical degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in programming and maintaining robotic systems
- Working with industrial robots, automated equipment, and other related systems is required
- Experience with robotic control systems such as ROS and/or industrial controllers (e.g. PLC)
- 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experienced with working in an automotive manufacturing and assembly environment
- Maintaining/troubleshooting equipment/machinery and tools
- Fanuc and Yaskawa robotic programming experience
- Fanuc and Yaskawa robotic mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshoot and repair experience
- Good attitude and interpersonal communication skills in Written, Verbal and electronic formats.
- Advanced skills in robotic programming and maintenance, must be truly versatile in robotic knowledge and ability, along with technically sound in all aspects of robotic function.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with others. This includes ability to communicate through emails
- Experienced with assembly and automated operations that are performed at the facility
- Knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems, Electrical, PLC and robotics
