About the role
The Director, Product Marketing will be responsible leading the HCP Marketing team to achieve financial objectives for an exciting treatment for rare epilepsy syndromes. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for the daily leadership of the HCP Marketing with a focus on excellent execution and support for individual growth and development. This individual will work with the Senior Director, Marketing to develop and execute the marketing strategy and communications for various professional audiences. The Director will collaborate with other functional areas and external agencies to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan that aligns with the brands critical success factors and is responsive to customer needs and consistent with market opportunities. This position will report to the Senior Director, Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to and execute the US marketing strategy. (e.g. positioning, messaging, branding, education, market research)
- Lead the development and execution of the yearly Brand Plan.
- Support the individual development of direct reports.
- Develop and execute against promotional strategy and tactical plans targeting US-based Neurologists other HCPs involved with the treatment of epilepsy.
- Manage agency and vendor relationships to develop promotional programs and tactics aligned with the brand strategy.
- Analyze market data and trends to provide detailed strategy recommendations.
- Liaise with other internal departments, including Sales, Sales Training, Market Access, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Compliance, and IS personnel to achieve brand goals and objectives.
- Identify and manage advertising and promotion budgets; develop and monitor relevant metrics to ensure program success. Communicates performance tracking as necessary.
- Champion marketing materials through the promotional review process.
- Understand key market trends and competitive environment to drive proactive strategies to maximize brand potential.
- Partner with Sales Training to develop comprehensive launch training plan.
- Develop ongoing promotional strategies, personal and non-personal promotional tools and resources.
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify best practices and uncover needs/trends and build relationships to improve consistency of brand strategy execution.
- Ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies and requirements.
Required Experience
- 7-10 years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Epilepsy or other relevant neurology experience preferred.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrated cross-functional leadership.
- Must demonstrate good judgement and evidence of good analytical, problem solving, strategic thinking, planning, and project management skills.
- Ability to think strategically by identifying and analyzing consumer and market insights and translating these into effective strategies.
- Proven success in effectively managing internal and external relationships with colleagues, thought leaders, strategic business partners and vendors.
- An understanding of and experience promoting to Long-term Care preferred
- Team oriented individual with solid communication skills including experience presenting to senior management and large audiences.
- B.A./B.S. degree required; advance degree preferred.
- Approximately 30% travel is required.
