Job Title: Research Director
JB Pritzker for Governor is seeking a qualified Research Director.
Position/Role:
The research director will lead all activities undertaken by the research department including drafting research plans, providing backups to all press materials and paid media, supporting rapid response efforts, and more. Managing deputies and empowering staffers new to research work will be essential.
We are looking for someone with exceptional research and management skills, whose strengths include attention to detail, creativity, and experience successfully managing research staff.
Responsibilities:
- Work with senior staff to support all public campaign statements, media, and activities
- Participate in media and press prep with the Governor and Lieutenant Governor
- Develop comprehensive research plans on multiple candidates
- Manage a large team and budget as they execute and expand those plans
- Provide rapid response support to the communications and digital teams
- Pursue creative research ideas to further the message and mission of JB for Governor
Skills:
● Two or more campaign cycles of experience
● Strong attention to detail
● Ability to manage up and down while prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment in conjunction with other departments
● Sharp political instincts
● A desire to hone management skills in a dynamic, active department
● Discretion and sound judgment when dealing with sensitive information
Logistics:
● Level: Director
● Salary: $10,000/month
● Location: Chicago, Illinois
● Hours: This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and is likely to require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle.
