What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at JBB Packaging LLC?
We are looking for a thorough Maintenance Technician to assist in maintenance duties related to the repair & and of all manufacturing equipment, material handling equipment, plant utility systems, and any other facility systems as needed or required. Technician should also be able to troubleshoot electrical issues and repair as necessary throughout the entire plant and make repairs as necessary. A technician’s goal will be to provide maintenance support to all areas of the plant to aid in the set up and production of products that meets or exceeds JBB specifications as needed. A technician will use documentation/instructions/drawings, etc., to perform each specific job task assigned and will complete those tasks in the safest manner possible. Will also need to carry out installations, knowledge of electrical systems and components, diagnose controls and comfortable with 3 phase 480 experience with DC Circuitry.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. PREPARE WORK AREA AS NEEDED TO OPERATE EQUIPMENT SAFELY. FOLLOW ALL SAFETY RULES! BE OBSERVANT OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. WORK SAFE. ATTENDS ALL REQUIRED SAFETY MEETINGS. WEARS ALL COMPANY REQUIRED PPE AS REQUIRED
2. FOLLOWS INSTRCTIONS/ DOCUMENTATION INSTRUCTIONS/DRAWINGS OR OTHER INFORMATION AS NEEDED TO REPAIR, TROUBELSHOOT, REPLACE PARTS, ETC. ,TO INSURE ALL EQUIPMENT IS IN GOOD CONDITION TO MEET PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS.
3. PARTICIPATE IN COMPANY SPONSORED TRAINING PROGRAMS TO HELP IMPROVE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS AS NEEDED.
4. DEMONSTRATES BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF PROCESSES, MATERIALS, CONTROL SYSTEMS AND ALL EQUIPMENT USED TO PRODUCE JBB PRODUCTS.
5. OWN AND MAINTAIN AN ADEQUATE SET OF GENERAL HAND TOOLS AND ANY INSTRUMENTATION EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO TROUBLESHOOT MECHANICAL OR ELECTRICAL ISSUES THROUGHOUT THE PLANT.
6. PERFORMS ALL NECESSARY GOOD HOUSEKEEPING PRACTICES AT WORK AREAS FOR SAFETY PURPOSES AND EASY IDENTIFICATION OF MAINTENANCE ISSUES.
7. DEMONSTRATES ABILTITY TO OPERATE MAINTENANCE RELATED EQUIPMENT (example but not limited to: hand/power tools, lathes, milling machines, grinders, welders, etc.)
8. DEMONSTRATES ABILITY TO READ BASIC MECHANICAL DRAWINGS RELATED TO BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS, EQUIPMENT OR ELECTRICAL ISSUES.
9. DEMONSTRATES ABLITITY TO TROUBLESHOOT AND REPAIR HYDRAULIC, PNEUMATIC AND ELECETRICAL ISSUES, INCLUDING BUT LIMIITED TO: WIRING, PLC CONTROLS, FUSES, BREAKERS, SOLENOIDS, MOTORS, GEARBOXES, ROLLERS, ETC., WITH ALL PRODUCTION AND FACILTITY EQUIPMENT.
10. PERFOMS TROUBLESHOOTING USING THE USE OF PRECISON INSTRUMENTS, MEASURED OUTPUTS, VISUAL EXAMINATIONS, AND OTHER METHODS LIKE NOISE, VIBRATIONS AND ODORS.
11. PROVIDE SUPPORT WHEN NEEDED FOR ALL EQUIPMENT RELOACTIONS AND/OR INSTALLATIONS.
12. PROVIDE BURNING, BRAZING, AND WELDING OPERATIONS WHEN REQUIRED.
13. INSTALL ANY PIPES, HOSES, TUBING, ETC. ON EQUIPMENT OR IN PLANT AS NEEDED. LABEL EACH AS REQUIRED TO HELP INSURE ALL PLANT PERSONNEL UNDERSTAND WHAT EACH ARE FOR.
14. IDENTIFY CRITICAL NEEDS FOR ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL SAFTEY AND COORDINATE WITH APPROPRIATE PLANT PERSONNEL TO LABEL, PAINT, RELOCTE POTENTIAL HAZARDS, ETC., AS NEEDED.
15. IDENTIFY AND REQUISTION ALL REPLACE PARTS OR COMPONENTS NEEDED, AS REQUIRED. MAINTAIN CRITICAL PART INVENTORY AS NEEDED.
16. UNDERSTAND AND PERFORM ALL LOCK OUT/TAG OUT PROCEDURES FOR ALL EQUIPMENT NEEDING REPAIR.
17. POSSSES ABILITY TO OPERATE SAFELY ALL LIFTING AND/OR MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: FORKLIFTS, PALLET JACKS, OVERHEAD HOISTS/CRANES, AND ANY HYDRAULIC JACKING EQUIPMENT AS REQUIRED.
18. PERFORMS AND MAINTAINS ALL RECORDS RELATED TO PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE FOR ALL PLANT EQUIPMENT.
19. WORK CLOSELY WITH SHIFT SUPERVISORS AND COWORKERS TO BRING ABOUT CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS IN PRODUCTION AREAS.
20. TREATS ALL EMPLOYEES/COWORKERS WITH RESPECT AND COURTESY AT ALL TIMES.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
· ABILITY TO WORK 8 HOUR SHIFTS PLUS OVERTIME IF REQUIRED, ABILITY TO LIFT 50 LBS., KNOWLEDGE OF PLC CONTROLS, KNOWLEDGE OF ALL BASIC MACHINE OPERATIONS (starting, stopping, setup, gauge, dials, valves, and other devises that regulate factors related to temperatures, pressures flow of liquids, pump speeds, blender settings, etc.) , ABILITY TO PERFORM BASIC FABRICATION OF PARTS AS NEEDED, POSSESS BASIC WELDING/ CUTTING SKILLS, GOOD WRITTEN AND ORAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS REQUIRED, BASIC BLUEPRINT/SCHEMATIC READING SKILLS, ABILTITY TO WORK INDEPENDTLY AS WELL AS WITH OTHERS, ADVANCED UNDERSTANDING OF HYDRAULIC, PNEUMATIC, VACUUM, CHILLER, ELCTRICAL AND PLC CONTOL OPERATIONS, ADVANCED TROUBLE SHOOTING SKILLS RELATED TO PRODUCTION AND FACILITY EQUIPMENT, ABILILTY TO CLIMB STEPS AND WORK IN CLOSE SPACES WHEN NEEDED, KNOWLEDGE OF ALL SAFE PRACTICES RELATED TO EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS.
Pay : Based on education, experience, and skill set.
