This position requires the ability to supervise HR functions and coordinate activities of professional level and provide administrative support for employees engaged in employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, employment, affirmative action and Diversity Equality and Inclusion.

Purpose & Scope:

Principle Responsibilities:
- Supervises the day-to-day administration of personnel policies and practices.
- Oversees and assigns employee training and orientation programs.
- Oversees the administration of compensations and benefits programs at the location to ensure these programs are in line with corporate programs.
- Recommends program changes or enhancements to meet human resource requirements.
- Coordinates the delivery of effective affirmative action, and other employee relations programs, such as recognition and appreciation, Diversity Equality and Inclusion.
- Act as a backup to payroll on a as needed basis.
- Manage HR systems for accuracy.
- Act as a backup to the HR Manager and Recruiting Manager on a as needed basis.
- Assists with the preparation of separation notices for employees separating with cause and may conduct exit interviews to determine reason behind separations.
- Will represent company in any HR/Safety investigations.
- Observe & enforce all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.
- Ensures regulatory compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc.
- Administer Unemployment Claims.
- Compliance (familiarity with Company Policy, State Law, Federal Law & how they intersect)
- Stays current on recent federal, state and case law changes and monitors labor law updates for changes that affect HR.
- Participate in strategic HR related competencies related to Turnover, Development, Retention, Conflict Management. HR KPIs, etc.
- Audit: complete regular internal audits with HRM
- In-depth working knowledge of Employment Laws/Regulations and Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Considerable skill in problem solving, conflict resolution, and dealing with confidential information/situations.
- Working knowledge of benefits administration and management practices.
- Basic understanding of Training Program and further development of team members.
- Other duties assigned.

- Supervisory skills; good interpersonal relations; ability to handle conflict.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead a group.
- Manage individual employee objectives as well as team performance and building a team approach to problem solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements:
Education: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field; however, additional related work experience will be considered in lieu of the education requirement. Minimum high school diploma or equivalency required.
- Experience: 1-2 years' previous supervisor experience in a HR environment; Previous experience in food manufacturing preferred.
- Experience with Hiring & Immigration Compliance preferred.
- Experience with FMLA & ADA preferred.
- Experience with SAP & Kronos preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Fast paced environment.
- Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives.
- Slippery floors, extreme temperatures and loud noises.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Schedule M-F and weekends when needed.
