What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Training and Practice Improvement position at JCCA?
OBJECTIVE:
The Director of Practice Improvement and Professional Development is responsible for coordinating training and practice improvement initiatives agency-wide, in collaboration with Human Resources and Program Administrators. In collaboration with HR, The Director of Training and Practice Improvement will be responsible for co-designing and implementing a learning strategy intended to improve agency retention, performance, culture, and achieve long-term success.
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
- Oversee all aspects of the Training and Practice Improvement department; supervise Training Coordinators and other staff as needed; and oversee development of training and practice improvement activities across the agency.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to design learning paths that support practice improvement and the professional development of staff across the agency; Oversee development of training calendars that include mandatory and enrichment trainings for staff.
- Collaborate with HR to build out the agency’s Learning Management System by generating learning paths, managing delivery of trainings, and assisting in the development of tracking protocols.
- Partner with HR to facilitate and co-facilitate team building and other staff development initiatives agency-wide, including the provision of coaching and team building support.
- Collaborate with HR and Program Leadership to coordinate supervisory and other practice forums for staff.
- In collaboration with HR, develop, coordinate and implement JCCA’s onboarding training programming for new staff.
- Work with Directors to identify areas of practice improvement and subsequent training needs.
- Develop curricula and facilitate practice trainings as needed.
- Collaborate with Directors to explore models of practice (including Evidence Based Models) that can effectively serve families and children and work collaboratively to assist in the implementation of these models.
- Provide technical assistance, coaching, and consultation to teams and individuals on how various models of practice (including trauma specific interventions) can be applied and effectively integrated into agency practice.
- Remain informed about trends in the field & use this information to develop a vision for practice improvement across the agency.
- Partner with Compliance, Data and Quality department to advance data-driven practice improvements in training and practice improvement across the agency.
- Liaison with New York State Office of Professions regarding the provision of CEU’s for in-house clinical staff trainings.
- Designate staff to act at LGBTQ Point Person for the agency to manage all LGBTQ Incidents with CDQ and HR
- Oversee LGBTQ training protocols across the agency; work with ACS and with all agency departments/programs to ensure compliance with the ACS LGBTQ Policy
- Participate and chair agency-wide committees as needed.
- Provide strategic planning support for all programs and departments, as needed
- Facilitate and co-facilitate various administrative meetings.
- Oversee the agency’s internship program, including expansion of program to include mental health counseling, marriage and family counseling, and other scopes of services.
- Work to expand internal JCCA faculty who can provide specialized trainings.
- Represent the agency at COFCCA, OCFS, ACS, and other city/state committees regarding training and staff development.
- Other duties that may be assigned.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- LCSW or LMSW with at least 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting.
