Content Coordinator, Marketing - Social & Digital
The Content Coordinator will support the Digital Content/Social Media team in overseeing the creation of relevant, original, high-quality content across social and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will help create content that supports JCPenney’s brand narrative and product priorities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Advise, counsel and manage visual development of concepts and assets to ensure quality standards and content goals are met.
- Balance in-house content curation and outsourced/influencer content curation by managing a network of internal and external content contributors.
- Develop project briefs to ensure all content ladders up to the content strategy and seasonal objectives.
- Experiment with content formats and develop new and innovative ways to best engage social and digital audiences.
- Upon request, ability to confidently create content from scratch with minimal equipment (mobile phone) including styling, shooting and overseeing editing
- Work with cross-functional teams and channel owners to understand their objectives to ensure scale of content across channels.
- Leverage data, results, insights and cultural/macro trends to inform content planning and recommendations.
Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
- 3+ years of related professional experience in content, social or digital marketing.
- Agency background/or client media experience a plus
- Creative mind with an excellent understanding of social platforms, content strategies and digital and creator trends.
- Entrepreneurial, self-starter, energetic and agile
- Forward-thinker with the ability to work independently, thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate ambiguity or uncertainty
- Ability to balance day-to-day execution and big-picture, strategic thinking
- Strong sense of partnership, collaborative and a team player
- Strong multi-task capabilities with ability to juggle multiple projects and requests. High attention to detail.
- Knowledge of social platform design specs and functionality
- Familiarity with the following applications is a plus: Opal, Curalate, Sprinklr, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Smartsheet.
