TITLE: MYEEP Summer Program Assistant for MYEEP-OMIE
POSITION: Temporary, 30-40 hrs/week
LOCATION: OMIE neighborhood, San Francisco

SALARY: $19-$21/hr
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Mayor’s Youth Employment and Education Program (MYEEP) is one of the largest youth employment programs in San Francisco, providing over 1000 high school-aged youth annually with subsidized employment and opportunities to explore, learn, and create paths. It includes a school-year and a summer strategy. MYEEP is a collaboration of 8 nonprofit agencies that utilizes a neighborhood-based approach to provide workforce development to program participants. Each MYEEP location includes a Coordinator and an Academic Mentor (school-year). The program also includes a peer leadership strategy that supports service delivery at each agency. Coordinators recruit and provide program services to youth as well as recruit over 250 employment sites.
MYEEP is one of several employment programs, including SF YouthWorks, Project Pull, SF STEM Academy, that form JCYC Workhub which provide a continuum of employment opportunities and experiences to over 2000 young people annually. JCYC is a leading San Francisco nonprofit organization that cultivates the hopes, dreams, and aspirations of young people so that each can bring them to life. JCYC uses a multi-service strategy that provides opportunities to over 5,000 youth annually.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Summer Program Assistant, with guidance from the MYEEP Coordinator and Associate Director, will support the application, enrollment and orientation process for the Summer cycle, lead a series of pre-employment and job/life skills workshops, develop worksites for youth placement and communicate directly with worksite Supervisor, offer individual support for program participants, and provide overall administrative and programmatic support.
This is a temporary full-time in-person position (with some remote work possible) with a tentative schedule of working between 9:00am-6:00pm. The position is expected to start by June 1, 2023 and last through early August 2023. Exact dates may vary, depending on programmatic needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Attend in-person/virtual meetings and in-person workshops
- Support onboarding process of program participants
- Provide compassionate and friendly customer service
- Participate in events and meetings as needed
- (Co)-Facilitate pre-employment training and workshops related to job readiness, career exploration, and other relevant topics; including support with planning, prep, and setting up
- Provide direct administrative support for program implementation
- Provide organized activities
- Maintain strong communication with staff, parents, youth, and worksite supervisors
- Maintain accurate files for all youth
- Assist participants in problem-solving and goal setting
- Other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator and MYEEP staff
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Proficient in Zoom, Microsoft Office, Google Classroom, and G-Suite
- Experience working with diverse, urban populations within a youth development field
- Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate youth groups
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge in curriculum development
- Strong attention to detail
- Some experience in Salesforce and ADP would be helpful
