What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP/Head of Supply Chain position at JDC ASSOCIATES?
Position is located in Syosset, New York. This is an in-office position (not remote). Candidates should live in Nassau County, Suffolk County, or Eastern Queens.
The company is expanding their product lines, customer base and manufacturing facilities. They have a geographic footprint that stretches from coast to coast and their supply chain is domestic. As the VP/Head of Supply Chain, you will be an important member of the executive team as they continue their growth trajectory to $1 billion of revenue.
As the company’s VP/Head of Supply Chain you will lead and build the team in all the vital areas of planning, replenishment, procurement, sourcing and transport. You will manage important supplier relationships, co-packers and 3rd party producers for their multiple lines of business. Partnering with the employees at their plants, you will keep the supply lines flowing and their production on target. As negotiator-in-chief, you will be developing tiers of vendors as you balance pricing, volume and quality for raw materials, packaging and finished goods. This position reports to the CEO but is a highly cross functional role working closely with all departments.
Responsibilities:
- Day to day operational responsibility for supply chain functions and operation improvements
- Lead demand planning team and work closely with sales to ensure accurate forecasts
- Ensure inventory and production are aligned to order fulfillment
- Lead replenishment team at plant and HQ
- Proactively drive cost savings through procurement efforts
- Pursue ongoing sourcing efforts to identify new partners
- Develop and cultivate tiers of suppliers
- Create metrics to gauge efficiency
- Develop the infrastructure to support growth
- Monitor commodity markets and devise strategies for buying
- Devise cost reduction plans
- Utilize systems to improve processes
- Help evaluate, select and implement new ERP system to support growth of company
- Monitor competitor developments
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting process
- Hire and mentor team members
Qualifications:
- 10 years of current supply chain and operational experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience working with multiple manufacturing plants
- Co-packing and 3rd party production experience
- Strategic understanding of the function
- Ability to get in the weeds, understand the details of the function
- Ability to prioritize, plan and execute
- Analytical and data driven mindset
- Entrepreneurial nature; comfortable with constant change
- ERP system implementation experience
