Responsibilities
- Determines type of scaffold needed.
- Unloading scaffolding equipment on-site
- Ensuring a stable base for scaffolding and erecting scaffolding poles
- Affixing scaffolding to buildings or structures
- Laying planks/skins/boards for workers to walk on
- Fixing guard rails and safety netting
- Creating different kinds of platforms, from simple scaffolding through to complex structures such as suspended scaffolding, cantilever drops and temporary roofs
- Dismantling scaffolding when a project is complete
- Inspects job site and all scaffold material after dismantling
- Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding
- Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
- Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
- Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and JDI Industrial Services requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
- Review blueprints and specifications to determine the amount and type of insulation needed
- Measure, cut, and install insulation to fit walls, ducting, piping, and equipment using a variety of insulation materials (fiberglass, rock wool, etc.)
- Measure, cut, and install metal jacketing on pipes, tanks, ducts, and equipment
- Fabricate blankets, shaping or forming foam or cutting and forming flexible jackets to fit odd-shaped objects
- Secure insulation with banding, lacing anchors and weld pins, staples, tape, or sheet metal screws
- Remove and properly dispose of old insulation
- Properly use and care for the tools and equipment used such as bending brakes, band saws, or banding tools
- Complete other duties as assigned
Skills
- Must have 5 years’ Scaffold Builder and Insulator experience
- Ability to work confidently at heights
- Possess basic computer skills
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Ability to understand technical drawings and plans
- Work independently predominantly or use excellent oral and written communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Must have history of working safely and following safety guidelines
- Experience in Industrial environments

Pay: $23.00 - $27.27 per hour
