What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Behavioral Health Consultant position at Jefferson - Center City, Philadelphia, PA?
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The position will provide support to the Director of Primary Care Integrated Behavioral Health in advancing and sustaining implementation efforts for integrated behavioral health services across Jefferson Health practices. Under the direction of the Director of Primary Care Integrated Behavioral Health, the Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) Lead will assist the onsite Behavioral Health Team with clinical functions of the department, consistent with corporate, administrative and clinical policies and procedures. The Behavioral Health Consultant Lead is a practicing clinician who serves in a leadership capacity to provide support and guidance to assigned teams and practices. The Behavioral Health Consultant Lead works to maintain high quality clinical service delivery, efficient work performance, and excellent customer service within the department and across practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serves as an Integrated Behavioral Health Department Champion to ensure the integration and implementation of evidence-based behavioral health practices within the respective practices.
- In collaboration with the Director of Primary Care Integrated Behavioral Health, provide active leadership in building positive provider-staff relations, clinical consultation, and Primary Care Behavioral Health core competency training for new and current behavioral health clinicians and clinic staff as requested.
- Assist with peer review efforts and identify clinical topics/trainings to promote continued team competency including literature reviews/updates.
- Maintain an active involvement in developing and implementing procedures and protocols to facilitate the delivery of comprehensive behavioral health services and quality assurance.
- Assist with clinical program development including ongoing assessment and evaluation of services provided within clinic site and proposing changes based on presenting patient/community needs and department goals and objectives.
- Assists in the preparation of reports and written documentation related to behavioral health service delivery, clinic activities, and/or patient care outcomes.
- May provide clinical supervision and participate in training/orienting new BHC staff as directed.
- Work closely with the Director of Primary Care Integrated Behavioral Health and designated management staff to address workflow and/or related clinical issues that may arise and develop a plan for improvement.
- Participate as a member of the health center staff in the of any kind of emergency.
- Participate as a member of the health center staff in the event of any other kind of emergency.
- Lead special IBH Department projects as directed.
- Maintains productivity expectations in accordance with clinic/program guidelines.
- Maintains clinical patient care duties as listed in the Behavioral Health Clinician job description.
- Meet regularly with Director of Primary Care Integrated Behavioral Health to discuss standards of care, service delivery innovation and integration, patient/provider satisfaction, team performance and related behavioral health and patient care outcomes.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Maintains a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality within the Department
- Maintains working knowledge of best practices in the field of integrated behavioral health and population health
- Works with other psychiatry faculty in a conjoint therapy model
- Documents accurately within the medical record of patients as well as other forms to meet city, state and federal regulatory requirements
- Completes all medical record and billing requirements within the electronic health record system
- Prioritizes and maintains assigned cases to ensure appropriate services are provided to patients
- Attends assigned meetings at all levels within the organization
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Masters in Social Work from a School of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or an equivalent degree as determined by the Council on Social Work Education; or PhD/PsyD in Psychology at an accredited university or college.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD; PsyD) in PA; if the job location is in NJ a NJ license will be required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a behavioral health setting is required. Prefer three or more years of outpatient clinical behavioral health experience
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Provides care that is appropriate to the specific chronological age, developmental age, social maturity and cultural background of the patients being treated.
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
