Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Bakery Clerk. As a Bakery Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting customers, preparing baked goods, and maintaining a clean and organized bakery department. Duties: - Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner - Prepare and package baked goods such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies - Ensure all bakery products are properly labeled with accurate pricing and ingredients - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery department, including display cases, workstations, and storage areas - Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying the bakery manager of any shortages or discrepancies - Operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and slicers following safety guidelines - Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure the safety and quality of baked goods - Assist with bussing tables and clearing dishes in the bakery seating area - Upsell bakery products to customers by providing recommendations and suggestive selling techniques Qualifications: - Previous experience in a grocery store or bakery setting is preferred - Basic math skills for cash handling and pricing calculations - Knowledge of food preparation techniques and baking principles - Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell products to customers - Familiarity with Aloha POS system is a plus - Ability to handle food safely and follow proper sanitation procedures - Excellent communication and customer service skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - Culinary or kitchen experience is a bonus Join our team as a Bakery Clerk and enjoy a rewarding career in the food industry.
