Retail Cashier

Jerry's Home Improvement is hiring great people to join our Checkout team in Springfield. Cashiers support Jerry's Value Mission of providing World Class Service to our customers by quickly and accurately ringing up customer purchases, ensuring they found everything for their project needs, and helping where help is needed.

The Job

As a Cashier you have the opportunity to:

• Develop a long-term career with an established, employee-owned company

Cashiers work to:

• Actively step out and greet customers in the checkout line
• Verify customers found what they needed
• Accurately scan product
• Provide solutions and alternatives, such as special orders, for products we don't currently have available
• Ensure correct pricing and verify total amounts
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

A Cashier requires:

• Courteous, Tactful, Diplomatic, Outgoing, and Friendly personality
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to scan accurately, efficiently, and to follow all Checkout procedures
• Able to deliver world-class customer service in a fast-paced retail environment
• Ability to regularly lift/push/pull/carry a minimum of 30-55 lbs.
• Ability to comfortably use a computer, mobile phone and radio
• Ability to stand/walk on concrete

Schedule

• Flexible schedules available
Schedule may vary and can include opening, closing, and weekend shifts based on store needs

Compensation

• Pay-rate starting at $15.00/hr.
