Summary
Hobbs Campaign for Grade-Level Reading is seeking a full-time Early Literacy Project Manager to lead our Campaign for Grade-Level Reading literacy community collaborative of parents, businesses, schools, institutions of higher learning, community and faith-based organizations, volunteers, stakeholders, and other network partners in the implementation of our Community Solutions Action Plan (CSAP). The work of the Early Literacy Project Manager is grounded in the ability to invest and engage local stakeholders as vital partners in this work and accomplish measurable results.
Core Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Be the face and voice for Hobbs Campaign for Grade-Level Reading.
- Chart the course of the campaign by developing a strategic plan, to maximize our impact on increasing 3rd grade reading proficiency through execution of CSAP in all five key areas: kindergarten readiness, parent engagement, chronic absenteeism, expanding summer learning opportunities, and educating on social determinants of health.
- Ensure accurate collection of data in each key area to monitor progress toward annual goals and utilize data to drive strategic planning.
- Work effectively with local and social media outlets to impact public awareness of the literacy crisis.
- Develop and evolve a strategy for maintaining and growing our public support, from district, local, and media sources.
- Value and build relationships with community leaders and community-based organizations to ensure our work is informed by the local perspective.
- Cultivate strong relationships with current partner school district(s) to maintain and expand the number of partner schools engaged in our campaign.
- Cultivate partnerships with other local non-profits and community-based organizations in order to align services and efforts and facilitate those resources to our partner schools.
- Build reports on progress, data, lessons learned, etc.
Desired Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Desired qualifications and skills include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in early education, childhood development, public health, business, or a related field.
- 3-5 years relevant experience leading or managing projects.
- Must be reliable and demonstrate an ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Bilingual preferred but not required.
- Demonstrate a deep commitment to and belief in the mission of the Hobbs Campaign for Grade-Level Reading.
- Ability to navigate complex situations and understand people dynamics and networks.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for and a commitment to our work and impact, as well as a deep passion for the community.
- Demonstrate excellent judgment, and operate with a high level of personal responsibility, optimism, and entrepreneurialism.
