What are the responsibilities and job description for the Import Logistics Specialist position at JF Moran?

The Logistics Specialist manages all logistics needs promptly and accurately with an emphasis on compliance and customer service. This role serves as a more experienced member of our logistics team. This associate will assist with more challenging logistics requests and will work directly with some of our more complex client needs and works with our international clients to manage their delivery process.

Responsibilities

· Works with Vendors / Manufacturers, Freight Forwarders, and our internal team to manage priority shipments. File ISF timely to avoid CBP penalties

· Maintains CargoWise with timely and accurate information to ensure up-to-date transit information, including updating with timely notes throughout all phases of shipment for client visibility.

· Entry processing including proper classification and valuation of products and components under the HTS schedule, proper country of origin marking requirements and proper product and component descriptions. Ability to use CROSS Binding Rulings module and Explanatory Notes as resources.

· Develop and maintain parts dictionaries for each client by item.

· Keeps apprised of social tariff treatment programs, including USMCA and GSP and new rulings or programs that may provide cost savings to the client.

· Delivery coordination including following up with cargo availability, last day of free time, pick up and proof of delivery.

· Stay current with US Customs, Canada Border Services Agency and various global customs requirements, reviewing CBP, CBSA and industry related resources.

· Participates in the development, implementation and management of policies, procedures and programs to ensure compliance with import and export regulations at all company locations. Works with leadership team to assess risks and determine action to be taken.

· Supports internal functional areas such as operations, sales and marketing, and finance to ensure policies and procedures are properly and efficiently implemented.

· Other tasks assigned by manager.

Education & Experience

· HS Diploma/College Degree preferred

· 2 Years in similar role preferred, but not required.

· Knowledge of HTS and CFR 19, Customs Regulations and PGA clearances.

· Familiarity with special tariff treatment programs, including USMCA and GSP and new rulings of programs that may provide cost savings to the client.

· Knowledge of INCOTERMS.

Physical Requirements

· Standing for up to three hours at a time.

· Lifting and carrying a minimum of five pounds.

· Sitting for up to seven hours per day.

· Going up and down stairs approximately two times per day.

· Working on a computer with multiple monitors for seven hours per day
