Our innovative and growing company is searching for experienced candidates for the position of yard driver. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications. While this is our ideal list, we will consider candidates that do not necessarily have all of the qualifications, but have sufficient experience and talent.
Responsibilities for yard driver
- Completes manual logs relative to yard verifications
- Maintains proper Seal Control procedures
- Pulls and spots trailers for the purposes of loading and unloading
- Outside weather conditions
- Toxic chemicals and vibration
- Loud work area
- Performs "safety check" inspection of the trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Secures the trailer landing gear and uncouple the trailer with the 5th wheel pin
- Connects and disconnects brake lines as needed
- Attaches empty trailers to "Yard Tractor" and transport to the appropriate loading dock door
Qualifications for yard driver
- Prefer minimum of one year verified experience operating a tractor trailer
- Requires the ability to understand and follow general oral and/or written instructions
- Requires valid license(s) as dictated by law
- Knowledge of principles and methods of moving trailers by road or in confined area
- Extensive yard driving experience preferred
- Possess or able to acquire and maintain a fork lift certification
Salary : $27,200 - $34,400
