Position Summary
Completes quality testing of material produced and provides finished test data to production. Ensures data information is consistent and accurate for both in process and finished products and ensures products meets or exceeds standards and customer requirements. Must be available to work a rotating 12 hour shift with hours from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
1, Education - minimum high school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience. Prefer science background with additional documented technical or college courses.
2. Experience – minimum five years total lab experience preferred. This may be from within Huber or documented from previous employment. Education may be substituted for experience if the course of study relates to math, science, computers, electronics, chemistry or engineering.
3, Requires the ability to read and understand scales, charts, drawings, formulas or specifications which are prepared by others and required taking information such as measurements, type of materials, etc.
4. Read notes, memoranda, forms or reports to obtain information or instructions; calculate accurately using arithmetic including decimals and fractions; use some knowledge of the specialized field in with job responsibility lies.
5. Able to prepare and maintain a wide variety of reports.
6. Advanced knowledge of SPC, ISO and Plant / Mine operations.
Physical Requirements
Employee could stand in lab for 12-hour work shift. Exposure to chemicals, light, noises and dusts. May be required to occasionally lift 50 pounds and work in cold or hot environment. Stress level of job is high. Stress related to performing multiple activities at the request of another employee or numerous production employees with time limitations on all activities.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
1. Ensures correct test result information on material is being produced and shipped.
2. Ensures proper documentation of shipments is complete and accurate.
1. Will have all the duties and responsibilities of the Lab Technician.
2. Have additional proven skills and responsibilities in non-routine areas related to analytical testing, computers, ISO, SPC, instrument calibrations, problem solving, procedure development, etc.
3. Will maintain the QC Lab instrument calibration and maintenance systems.
4. Performs all lab instrument preventative maintenance.
5. Completes final inspection and shipment of sample requests. Enters information into Sales Logic.
6. Ensures ISO manuals are revised and updated continuously.
7. Completes lab purchase order requisitions.
8. Will routinely be assigned projects in addition to the routine workflow of the lab. Will be responsible for working on these assigned projects independently. At the conclusion of the project, will be responsible for a report or results as designated by the QC Manager.
