JNE Consulting is a progressive, multi-disciplinary engineering services firm based in, Hamilton ON with offices in Pittsburgh, PA, Auburn, AL and Detroit. Our experienced and specialized teams work globally with a diverse client base – from concept through to engineering and procurement, as well as construction and project management services.
Our company provides clients with all components necessary for successful project completion, including preliminary studies, project design, construction, and project management, process implementation, and complete commissioning. JNE can also provide training, marketing, sales and after-sales services, as required.
JNE Consulting is currently seeking a full-time Civil Designers for our Pittsburgh PA office.
Role and responsibilities:
- Knowledge of 3D modeling for building foundations and equipment foundations
- Knowledge of 3D modeling for structural steel – industrial building, equipment/services support
- Knowledge of creation of construction drawing packages for above noted concrete and steel structures using AutoCAD or 3D modeling software
- AutoCAD experience
- Knowledge of structural steel and concrete design and detailing practices
- Understanding of construction practices
- Work in a team environment with engineers and designers in single discipline or multi- discipline environment
- Work independently on small projects
- Inform leads on progress and estimate time to complete work
- General understanding of industrial project requirements including layout/function, equipment vendor, other disciplines, client expectations
- Perform Site work
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products – Outlook, word and excel
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- 1 to 5 years relevant working experience
- High school diploma required
- College level diploma preferred, or related work experience
The following qualifications and abilities are an asset:
- Mill building and crane supporting steel structures experience
- Advance Steel
- Revit
- Microstation
- Other 3D modeling software experience
- Use of point clouds
- Brownfield sites - ability to execute projects in existing facilities
- Architectural design / layout as it pertains to industrial buildings and offices
- Site plans and layout
- Grading and drainage
- Steel Industry experience
- Experience checking drawings
