Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a CNC/EDM Operator in Madison Heights, MI. Our client needs a CNC/EDM Operator who tends machines and manipulates materials used to fabricate molded wheels with diamond bond edging to specifications.
Responsibilities for CNC Operator include:
- Wears appropriate safety equipment and utilizes safety techniques.
- Makes adjustments to meet goals assigned by Production Supervisor. Monitors work performance to meet quality standards.
- Requisitions supplies or equipment, assigns storage space, and oversees usage of materials to reduce waste.
- Studies work order or blueprint to determine dimensions and tolerances specifications of piece, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements. Measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces. Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures. Engages feeding device. Observes EDM process and estimates amount of necessary machining. Moves controls to adjust depth of wheel cut, angle between workpiece and EDM machine, and feed rate.
- Removes and inspects finished work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as preset gauges, calipers, micrometers and load test equipment.
- Operates and Programs various CNC machines and makes adjustments to meet goals assigned by Plant Manager or Production Scheduler. Monitors work performance to meet quality standards.
- Trains workers as needed on various CNC machines and machining technics.
- Studies work order or blueprint to determine dimensions and tolerances specifications of piece, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements. Measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces. Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig bores, and shapers. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and angle or depth of cut.
- Starts CNC machine and observes machine operation on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings. Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, surface plate, surface table, hand tools and power tools.
- Removes and inspects finished work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as preset gauges, calipers, micrometers and load test equipment.
- Fills out production records.
- May confer with plant management to resolve machining problems and offer suggestions.
- Maintains and repairs all machinery in department. Replaces worn equipment using hand tools.
- Dresses wheels using preset or manual dressing device.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
- Less than 1.5% Scrap
REQUIRED Education and Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Conducting (drug screening and/or background check) report inquiries may be necessary for employment purposes.
