We are seeking an experienced Head Cheesemaker to join our thriving manufacturing team. This is a permanent, full-time position, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to and shape the future of our renowned cheese production.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire cheese manufacturing process, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety, whilst also driving innovation and product development.
This role is perfect for a passionate, hands-on individual who has a deep understanding of the science and art of cheese-making, along with the skill to manage a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
As our Head Cheesemaker, your responsibilities will include :
1. Overseeing the entire cheese production process, from milk reception to final product packaging.
2. Ensuring all products meet our stringent quality standards and are produced in accordance with SQF and HACCP regulations.
3. Managing and training a team of cheesemakers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
4. Driving innovation in our cheese range, researching and developing new products to meet market demands.
5. Collaborating with other departments such as sales, marketing, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations and market success.
6. Maintaining accurate records of production, quality control, and inventory.
7. Regularly reviewing and updating our cheese-making processes and procedures to increase efficiency and safety.
8. Liaising with suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies as required.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need :
1. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a cheese-making role in a manufacturing environment.
2. Extensive knowledge of and experience with SQF and HACCP regulations.
3. A proven track record in managing a team in a production environment.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
5. Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders.
6. A passion for cheese and a commitment to producing the highest quality products.
7. A degree in Food Science or a related field would be advantageous, but is not essential.
