Our organization is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating the organization's financial reporting, inventory accounting, cost accounting, and annual budgeting and forecasting. This position will offer the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, where every day brings new and exciting challenges.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
2. Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
3. Report to management regarding the finances of the establishment.
4. Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
5. Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
6. Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
7. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity, etc.
8. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
9. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
10. Coordinate and complete annual audits.
11. Provide recommendations for improving the organization's financial performance.
12. Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process.
13. Provide input into the department's goal-setting process.

Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting or a related field.
3. Comprehensive understanding of financial reporting, inventory accounting, cost accounting, and annual budgeting and forecasting.
4. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
5. Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
6. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven business decisions.
10. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
11. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification would be considered an asset.
