As The Accounting Manager, Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Overseeing all aspects of property and casualty insurance accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with statutory and GAAP principles.
- Leading the preparation and submission of STAT reporting and other regulatory filings.
- Managing the monthly close process, ensuring all financial data is captured and reported accurately.
- Collaborating with the finance team to develop and implement effective financial strategies.
- Utilizing Clearwater and other financial software to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including those specific to the technology industry.
- Providing leadership and guidance to junior accounting staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- 5 years' experience in accounting working in insurance or reinsurance.
- Property and casualty insurance accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with STAT reporting, monthly reporting, and preparing financials.
- Prior experience in public accounting is a plus.
- Proficiency in Clearwater or similar financial software.
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is required.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide recommendations.
- Excellent leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing and developing teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
