About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced construction law attorney to join our collaborative team in either New York City or Rivers Edge, NJ. In this role, you will be dedicated to construction contracts and related matters, and play a key role in protecting companies interests by drafting, negotiating, and reviewing construction contracts for various projects. You will also provide legal guidance and support to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of construction contracts, including design-build agreements, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Advise on and manage risk associated with construction projects, including identifying potential issues and implementing strategies to mitigate them, developing comprehensive risk management plans tied to these contracts.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex construction law issues.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Represent the companies in contract negotiations and dispute resolution proceedings, potentially including mediation and arbitration.
Qualifications:
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing complex construction contracts.
- Strong understanding of construction law principles, including contract formation, risk allocation, and dispute resolution.
