Job Details
This is an immediate opening for an associate to join its Chicago office. We are seeking an associate with 1-3 years’ experience for our toxic tort practice group. The candidate will also work on general liability cases. Successful candidates will have exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- File review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action
- Drafting and responding to discovery requests
- Motion drafting and research experience
- Attend and defend depositions of plaintiff and fact witnesses
- Demonstrate ability and desire to manage an active caseload from start to finish proactively
- Expert witness retention and collaboration
- Trial preparation and attendance
Qualifications:
- 1st to 3rd year associates preferred
- Experience in general liability, experience in toxic tort area a plus
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in IL, other states a plus but not required
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid research abilities and written and oral communication skills
- Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage and work in a team environment
- Excellent organizational, client service skills
