The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering principles and techniques, with a particular focus on hydrology, grading, foundations, and the design of substations. Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure, such as roads, railways, airports, bridges, harbors, dams, irrigation projects, power plants, and water and sewerage systems.
- Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings, and other).
- Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications.
- Use a range of computer software for developing detailed designs.
- Undertake complex calculations.
- Liaise with a variety of stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and other professional staff such as architects and planners.
- Monitor and inspect all work undertaken by contractors to ensure structural soundness.
- Administer contracts, manage projects, monitor progress, and track and control project costs.
- Ensure projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time.
- Design and oversee the construction of infrastructure for the transportation of electricity from substations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industry-standard design software such as Civil 3D.
- Proven experience in hydrology, grading, foundations, and design of substations.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask and lead teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a creative approach for generating new ideas.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- High level of mathematical proficiency.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local construction regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a dedication to accuracy.
