We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and proactive Civil Superintendent for our construction projects in both public and private sectors. This role will require you to oversee all aspects of civil construction projects, from planning to implementation, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations. The Civil Superintendent will be responsible for managing site personnel, coordinating subcontractors, and liaising with clients and other stakeholders. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a hands-on approach and a strong commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and manage all phases of civil construction projects, including excavation, trenching, earthwork, site cleanup, pavement cutting, compaction services, grading, and concrete works.
2. Operate heavy equipment as necessary and ensure all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with safety standards.
3. Lead, supervise, and train site personnel and subcontractors, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
4. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring that all parties are kept informed of project progress and any issues that arise.
5. Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards and within budget.
6. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
7. Identify and mitigate any potential risks or issues that could impact the successful completion of the project.
8. Coordinate site cleanup and final inspections, ensuring that all work is completed to the client's satisfaction.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Civil Superintendent or in a similar role within the construction industry.
2. Proven experience in civil work, including excavation, trenching, earthwork, site cleanup, pavement cutting, compaction services, grading, and concrete works.
3. Experience operating heavy equipment.
4. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
5. Proven contract negotiation skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
6. Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
7. Ability to lead, supervise, and train site personnel and subcontractors.
8. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks or issues.
9. A commitment to health and safety, with a track record of promoting safe work practices.
10. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as necessary.
