Responsibilities
- Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
- Establish, maintain, and document accounting policies and procedures
- Establish and implement financial controls governing cash disbursements, credit card use, AR and cash receipts, approval procedures, commissions, legal contracts, etc.
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
- Coordinating activities of external auditors
- Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes.
- Establishing and maintaining financial controls with the accounting department.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting databases, as needed, and facilitate ongoing improvement.
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
- Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff. Leadership and development of the accounting team.
- CPA required
- Bachelor's in Accounting
- Public Accounting highly preferred
- Banking/Financial Services industry experience preferred
