Job Details
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Paralegal to join our legal department in the energy and gas industry. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support to the General Counsel and legal team in contract management, compliance, risk mitigation, and general legal operations.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Review, draft, and edit various types of contracts, including NDAs, service agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts align with company policies and objectives
- Maintain accurate records and databases of all contracts and related documents
- Assist in the development and implementation of contract management processes and procedures
- Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure company compliance
- Assist in the development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures
- Monitor and report on potential legal risks and liabilities
- Support the legal team in managing and mitigating identified risks
- Assist in the development and implementation of legal department processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Manage legal databases, filing systems, and document retention policies
- Coordinate with external legal counsel and manage legal vendor relationships
- Provide administrative support to the General Counsel and legal team, including scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, and maintaining calendars
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents, such as memoranda, reports, and presentations
- Conduct legal research and analysis as needed to support ongoing projects and initiatives
- Provide support during corporate transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Assist in the management of legal matters, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation
- Bachelor's degree in legal studies, business administration, or a related field
- Paralegal certification from an accredited program
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a corporate paralegal, preferably in the energy and gas industry
- Strong knowledge of contract law, compliance, and risk management principles
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with contract management software and tools
- Familiarity with energy and gas industry regulations and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of project management principles and techniques
