Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and analytical individual to join our team as a Credit Trading Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring trading activities, conducting in-depth research, and executing trades to optimize profitability. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial markets, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to risk management.
Responsibilities:
Monitor trading activity and positions throughout shifts.
Conduct research, trade analysis, and trend identification to enhance profitability.
Stay informed about current and upcoming changes to relevant programs.
Participate in rulemaking workshops and stay updated on news affecting trading programs.
Communicate with exchanges, brokers, and internal teams to mitigate risks effectively.
Execute trades promptly and efficiently.
Manage procurement, retirement, and trading of credits to ensure compliance and increase profitability.
Communicate portfolio performance effectively.
Foster and maintain relationships with external personnel and trade organizations.
Job Knowledge:
Familiarity with Intercontinental Exchange transactions.
Understanding of the Federal Renewable Standard (RFS), California Cap & Trade Program (GHG), and California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS).
Ability to execute trades as required.
Working knowledge of oil and gas markets.
Mental Application:
Ability to analyze complex information and project its impact on markets.
Dexterity and Accuracy:
Procure or dispose of high-value credits accurately and efficiently.
Forecast and plan credit trading activities with precision.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with credits exchanges.
Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, business/finance, or related field.
4 years of experience trading credits and/or financial products.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and mathematical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong commitment to the success of the trading desk.
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Interaction with Other Departments:
Collaborate with management and supervision in daily duties.
Working Conditions:
Office-based in a temperature-controlled environment.
Extended periods of screen time.
Desk work involving keyboard and mouse usage.
Social Responsibilities:
Adherence to company policies on harassment, drug, and alcohol use, and workplace violence.
Supervision: Reports to the Environmental Manager.
Examples of Accuracy:
Utilizing news items to adjust trading forecasts.
Seizing profitable trading opportunities in a timely manner.
