Responsibilities
As a Hydraulic Design Engineer, your key responsibilities will include
- Designing and developing hydraulic systems and components for various construction projects.
- Utilizing MicroStation and Geopak software for hydraulic design and modeling.
- Complying with NCDOT, FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual, and other relevant standards and regulations.
- Developing and implementing effective stormwater management strategies.
- Conducting geotechnical engineering tasks such as soil stabilization and erosion control.
- Designing roadway drainage systems and implementing hydraulic improvements.
- Creating sedimentation control designs and managing erosion control projects.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project success.
- Continuously improving and updating knowledge and skills in the hydraulic design field.
The ideal candidate for the Hydraulic Design Engineer position should have the following qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in hydraulic design, particularly in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak, and other relevant software.
- Strong knowledge of NCDOT, FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual, and other relevant standards.
- Experience in geotechnical engineering, stormwater management, and roadway drainage design.
- Familiarity with erosion control, soil stabilization, and sedimentation control design.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- A proactive and innovative approach to hydraulic design and engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
