We are an AV rated and well respected litigation firm in downtown, Los Angeles. We are a boutique law firm that goes to jury trial frequently. We represent both plaintiffs and defendants, with a ratio of approximately 80% hourly to 20% contingency. We practice in many different practice areas, including, for example, employment litigation, intellectual property disputes (both enforcement and defense), business cases, white collar criminal defense, real property litigation, contract disputes, probate and conservatorship cases (on both sides), military law and many other areas. We practice in both State and Federal Courts, including, the Court of Claims and International and Domestic Arbitrations.

Job Details

The ideal candidate will have employment litigation experience, including handling claims for wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, and wage and hour matters. We are looking for an associate that can handle all aspects of litigation, from evaluating potential cases all the way through resolution. This position will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and become a valuable member of our team.

• Draft motions and other pleadings
• Propound and respond to discovery requests
• Court appearances, primarily in Los Angeles Superior Court
• Conduct fact and expert depositions
• Pre-trial preparation
• Client communication, including preparation for depositions and trial
• Strong academic background along with exceptional research, analytical, speaking and writing skills.
• Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
• Managing discovery, including taking/presenting witnesses for deposition
• Managing a large docket of cases from inception through trial
• Responsible for handling all aspects of litigation (fact investigation, pleadings, discovery, experts, motions, pretrial, trial, settlement and so on), and developing and maintaining strong business and client relationships.
• Demonstrate effective planning, problem-solving, analytical skills, exercise sound judgment, have the ability to prioritize workload and assignments, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills

Minimum of 3 years of general litigation experience
Experience handling commercial disputes and litigation matters
