We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our property portfolio, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month end close, and bookkeeping. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting for a portfolio of properties, including preparation of monthly financial reports, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Ensure accurate and timely month end close and provide financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform regular and detailed bookkeeping duties, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Analyze and review financial data, prepare budget forecasts, and monitor budget variances.
• Act as a liaison with external auditors and manage the audit process.
• Collaborate with property management team to ensure accurate and timely property financial information.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations and filing requirements.
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
• Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger functions, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month end close, and bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Sage.
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• CPA certification is a plus.
