Job Details
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Space industry. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance are met in the production of aerospace and space hardware. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality control processes and procedures in accordance with AS9100 standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections and audits to identify any deviations from specifications, ensuring adherence to blueprints and mechanical requirements.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Lead supplier development initiatives, evaluating and qualifying new suppliers to ensure they meet the necessary quality standards.
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement, and implementing appropriate measures to enhance overall quality performance.
- Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to address any quality concerns or non-conformances, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in design and process reviews, providing valuable input to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations, particularly in the aerospace and space hardware sectors, and ensure compliance throughout the organization.
- Train and mentor junior quality team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality engineering role within the manufacturing industry, preferably in aerospace or space hardware.
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100 standards and experience implementing quality control processes in accordance with these standards.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles and ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with IPC standards and NASA requirements is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in supplier development, including the evaluation and qualification of new suppliers.
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills, with a track record of implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze quality metrics and identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality products and services.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) are a plus.
