As a Backend Developer - Streaming Data (Scala), you will design and develop elegant and performant code, predominantly in Scala while also making extensive use of current open-source technologies such as Kafka, Flink, Spark and Kubernetes. You will join a growing multi-disciplinary team of Data Scientists, Engineers, and Solutions Experts with deep domain knowledge working to develop new capabilities and workflows to solve real-world client problems.
Your work will include developing tools to support:

- Experience with Scala
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with a growing customer base where the boundaries of data size and data format are constantly changing.
- Experience with data at scale (100,000 messages per minute)
- Experience with RESTful API development
- End to end integration tests with 3rd party systems.
- Familiarity with the AWS services
- Experience with containerization of complex services using Docker, Kubernetes & ArgoCD
- Familiarity with modern development/collaboration tools, including Jira, Confluence, Gitlab and Slack.
- Experience with well-known Scala libraries and frameworks, including Spark.
- Experience with agile development in shipping SaaS products
- Affinity for learning and applying new technologies and solving new problems
- Effective organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills — both written and verbal
