Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Environmental Planner to join our dynamic team of professionals in the Engineering industry. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing environmental planning projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, and preparing comprehensive environmental reports. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth in a supportive work environment and the chance to make a significant impact on our environmental initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee complex environmental planning projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
- Ensure compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other relevant state and federal environmental regulations.
- Conduct thorough research and prepare comprehensive environmental reports, presenting findings to stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Lead the preparation of environmental documents, including Environmental Impact Reports (EIR), Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), and other CEQA/NEPA documents.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, planners, and other professionals to develop and implement environmental strategies.
- Provide expert advice on environmental planning issues, making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
- Liaise with government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders to address environmental concerns and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental planning, preferably in the engineering industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with CEQA, NEPA, and other state and federal environmental regulations.
- Proven experience in research and writing environmental reports, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong experience in CEQA compliance and the preparation of environmental documents.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions.
- Proficiency in using various software packages, including GIS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional certification in environmental planning or a related field is a plus.
